Dr. Claudia Treviño García is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the College of Education and Human Development in the Bilingual-Bicultural Studies Department at the University of Texas at San Antonio where she currently teaches methods in social studies and biliteracy courses, along with supervising clinical teacher residents. Her career has been a combined 30 years in bilingual education as a dual language teacher, bilingual education and ESL curriculum specialist and dual language/ESL coordinator. Her research focuses on teacher cultural efficacy development, dual language education, educator preparation and teacher residency programming.
I would like to serve as the TABE Treasurer so that I may oversee and support the maintenance of TABE"s financial operations and to continue to grow TABE's budget in order to promote the financial stability of the organization. In my role, I will support and work in tandem with TABE's Executive Director and advise the executive board as needed to make sound financial decisions. In this role I will also assist in additional duties including the organization and planning of TABE's annual conference, and any other committees assigned throughout my tenure as treasurer.
